+A fabulous and unusual pair of antique Victorian Silver bracelets in the Archaeological style which can also be worn as a collarette at the base of the neck. Using inspiration from jewellery found at burial sites across Europe and shewn in displays at museums (the reverse of the chain link is in the style sold at the time as 'Roman') jewels such as this were designed and produced in workshops at the great jewellery centre of Birmingham for the fashion conscious amateur archaeologist.
Its sinuous snakeyness is a wonder to hold, each of the links running smoothly and adorned with pierced star decoration and bobbles of Silver to the edges, it makes a fab statement whether worn as bracelets or collarette. It fastens with really lovely handmade box clasps which are hand engraved with an entrancing scrollery. Each bracelet measures 18cm when closed and the necklet 37cm.
