+COMMON NAME: STRAWBERRY GERANIUM, STRAWBERRY BEGONIA
Saxifraga stolonifera 'Hope's Wine' has beautiful rich wine-tinted leaves with attractive purplish-red undersides. The scalloped, hairy leaves have silver veins. Their red color intensifies in winter. Also know as Strawberry Geranium or Strawberry Begonia, this perennial has upright sprays of starry light pink to white flowers in spring. Saxifraga stolonifera 'Hope's Wine' makes a good evergreen ground cover as it spreads by runners, similar to strawberry plants, and also self-sows.
Saxifraga stolonifera 'Hope's Wine' prefers light shade to shade and well-drained soil. It is heat and humidity tolerant and withstands drought once established.
